We ended up with a one year old harp from a very well-respected company. This harp was turned back in as part of their bounty program where you can upgrade to a bigger harp. It was in perfect condition.
We found an instuctor through an acquaintance who plays in a symphony, She recommened the harpist who in in that symphony, a young Thai woman who is working on her doctoral degree in harp performance. She's the sweetest girl and has been a joy to know.
Then, Carolyn, who has been wanting to play the flute for a long time got the opportunity to start lesson in June. We have a new family at our church who moved here from Michigan. The young mom is a flute player. (I don't say flautist because of this article.) She was excited to teach Carolyn when I asked her. And, her husband bought her a new flute in May, so we were able to buy her old one which is in very good condition and is a good name flute. Carolyn has already played at church with her teacher and a violinist in a trio.
Tommy received a guitar from my dad recently. It's a little large for him right now. Stephanie started teaching him and he's a happy camper.

I studied piano for 12 years and also play the tin whistle. It is wonderful that you got your children enthused about music. I am a retired teacher, so I applaud your for undertaking homeschooling.
Lovely blog!
