Three more musicians

We have been blessed to add two more instruments in our home. Kelly started playing the harp in April after many years of wanting to learn. It has really been God's provision in how we found a harp teacher and a harp to purchase. Way back in January when Steve and I went to Dallas for a conference, we met a couple who have four children who all play the harp together. They arrange music for the four of them and have recorded CDs. They gave us a CD and talked to us about how to purchase a harp. We continued to be in touch with them via email as prior to this, we had absolutely no knowledge of harps. They are quite expensive and I didn't want to make a mistake and regret my purchase.

We ended up with a one year old harp from a very well-respected company. This harp was turned back in as part of their bounty program where you can upgrade to a bigger harp. It was in perfect condition.

We found an instuctor through an acquaintance who plays in a symphony, She recommened the harpist who in in that symphony, a young Thai woman who is working on her doctoral degree in harp performance. She's the sweetest girl and has been a joy to know.

Then, Carolyn, who has been wanting to play the flute for a long time got the opportunity to start lesson in June. We have a new family at our church who moved here from Michigan. The young mom is a flute player. (I don't say flautist because of this article.) She was excited to teach Carolyn when I asked her. And, her husband bought her a new flute in May, so we were able to buy her old one which is in very good condition and is a good name flute. Carolyn has already played at church with her teacher and a violinist in a trio.

Tommy received a guitar from my dad recently. It's a little large for him right now. Stephanie started teaching him and he's a happy camper.

I studied piano for 12 years and also play the tin whistle. It is wonderful that you got your children enthused about music. I am a retired teacher, so I applaud your for undertaking homeschooling.
Lovely blog!
