So, I woke up today knowing that I wasn't restricted by my 30 Day Sugar Free Challenge. I was free to eat whatever I wanted and what did I choose? First, I made an omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and scallions. And, I made one each for Stephanie and Allison. Then, I took out the cookie dough I mixed up last night and popped it into the oven. Out came the most beautiful-looking cookies I've ever seen. Look for yourself. Yeah, that's them with the glass of milk. I thought I'd be ready to eat a whole plate of them, but I only ate one. After going so long without sugar, I really didn't want to destroy that good, healthy feeling my body has gotten used to. And, I knew putting all that sugar into it would make me feel sick.
Tip: If you are going to eat a cookie or cake, eat it with protein or good fat. It helps bind the sugar so it's not so high on the glycemic index. Another example: a baked potato is better with the sour cream and cheese instead of plain.
Stephanie, Allison and I planned on celebrating by going to see You Again at the movie theater. I don't usually recommend movies to anyone because I rarely go and there isn't anything I would say, "Go see this." Not even the little kiddie movies are worth recommending. But, I laughed out loud at this one. I say, take a couple girlfriends and go see it when you want to take your mind off things. It's a nice break away. Jamie Lee Curtis cracks me up.
After the movie, we went to Panera Bread. I had a Sierra Turkey sandwich, Steph had soup and salad, Allison had soup. I had been missing sandwiches during the whole Sugar Free Challenge so it was very satisfying. Oh, and the McDonald's frape they said they wanted, they changed their minds. They are choosing healthier foods too. I love it.

Hi Kathy! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I love meeting new people :) How awesome is it that you have 10 children? My family came to the United States when I was 18 months old so I grew up with just my parents and my brother and I would watch the Waltons on TV and dream of a large family one day. Now we have 4 grandsons and a new grandbaby due in May. Between my brother's family and ours there are 14 of us and I'm lovin' it! God has been so very good to me! I have to get ready for our Sunday family lunch for after church...today is creamy chicken soup and french bread..yum! Have a great day!
I've been on this diet for the past 3 years now. It's been really good for my health and my last prenancy was the best ever. It does make it hard if you like to go to restaurants though. :)
